Default EVIC Trans and Oil Temp Gauge Accuracy

The EVIC feature to display transmission and oil temperatures is a bit inaccurate on my 5.7 with 8-speed. At start-up when engine is cold, the gauges display just shy of normal operating temperature, and when at normally operating temperature the gauges show 3/4 way to hot/red zone. I'm wondering if this is a firmware glitch with a patch available. Anyone know? I thought I read something about this earlier so apologizes if this was addressed earlier and my search skills are a bit inept.

What is the normal operating temperature for oil. On the highway mine runs around 105 celcius or 221 fahrenheit. I found the 2014 runs hotter than my 2011.

I think this is correct. Engine runs hotter overall to meet emission requirements and the 8-speed runs hotter than than 6-speed, normally. My hunch is the gauges were calibrated to earlier years and have not been reset to current model year, but have nothing to base this on.
