Default Question for Rambox owners

Has anyone come up with aftermarket products or DIY organizers for your Ramboxes. I am looking for ideas for a toolbox that would hold socket sets, wrench sets, etc., without just jumbling them up in a big box. The Mopar products are pricey and they really don't offer anything that will suit my needs. There is a lot of storage area in the boxes (mine is a 6.5 bed) but they are fairly narrow and deep and the stuff I usually need is at the bottom! Any ideas would be appreciated.

I would suggest an assortment of Rubbermaid type organizers with lids, or other manufactures - Home Depots carries various ones also .. all sizes, all shapes that could hold various tools and the such. Color coded also.
Just a thought.

I don't have the Ram boxes
I just went to Harbor Freight, it is a bit closer to me then Home Depot or Lowes
I bought some heavy duty plastic tool boxes
i marked them as to what they held
Caution tape for the First Aid box, so that it stands out, the one that i keep inside the cab stands out too, RED, BLACK, & YELLOW, with velcro on the bottom so it can't slide around
Signal/Highway Flare box is very RED
The rest of the boxes were marked with Grey Masking Tape & Permanent Marker
Socket Set, Electrical, Asst. Tools, etc.
it made my life a bunch easier
Now masking tape comes in many assorted colors

There are some vertical slots in the Rambox liner that look like they will take 1/4" plywood or plexi dividers (Lexan better).... should be easy to make.

Great idea. Am curious as to what material the factory dividers are made of. I may try to find some 1/4" black lexan. Never used it before.

Lexan is tough plastic that won't shatter like acrylic/plexiglas. You'll have to look to find it in black... clear at Home Depot, but I'll warn you it is not cheap. Do a mock-up with cardboard or hardboard first.....

I found a site that sell the black Lexan. http://www.pleximart.com/store.php?s...215&pd=4899727

I figure two sheets should cover both boxes. Might be able to do it in one once I take some measurements.

The Rambox organizer/cargo management system is expensive, BUT, one kit is for both sides. You get 2 pieces that cover the front and rear pockets, plus 4 vertical pieces for in the slots (for each side). Additionally, you get 2 cargo nets that fit on the inside of the lids. Only 1 issue... the 2 center pieces are too tall, and contact the Rambox lid when closed, so you have to trim about 1/4" off the bottom. They look much better than anything you could make, when you include your time. I'm waiting for my Rambox holster to arrive!

Rob, that black is acrylic, not Lexan (polycarbonate). I'm only saying acrylic can crack and shatter if abused, be careful when you cut it. Lexan on the other hand is virtually indestructible by comparison.

Thanks for the tip. I'll scratch that site off my list. I think it came up when I typed in "black lexan sheets" in Google. Didn't pay attention (not that I would have known the difference between Lexan & Acrylic anyway ).
