Default AntennaX 13" Review

Just got my Antennax 13" Off-Road antenna in the mail this morning and wanted to do a bit of a write up about it in case anyone else was curious about it or has one and wants to add their .02.

I was a bit skeptical seeing the packaging at first. Its relatively cheap looking and frankly cheaply packaged. But I guess for $15 I can only expect what I paid. It came with 4 separate adapters making it fairly universal. And its literally a plug and play mod. Unscrew the OEM antenna match up the correct adapter and screw the new antenna on. That simple.

On to the important stuff. Reception quality hasn't been affected hardly if any at all. I don't live in a huge city but most of our radio stations come from a larger city next door. They still came in crystal clear. I even went for a drive out to the boonies and could still tune in. I took it as far as the OEM antenna normally goes and it held its on just fine.

Lastly, the appearance is what really sold it for me. I think it looks awesome and is much more eye catching and appealing than that eye sore from the factory. As well as low hanging limbs and car washes are no longer an issue as well.

I'll try and post some pics later if I can get them before dark.

Hope this helps anyone looking to purchase one of these. If nothing else let's hear some reviews and/or suggestions.

Did you check the AM reception or just FM?

I bought one, at Pep Boys, for my previous Ram and I was happy with the reception. However, I rarely listen to AM/FM.
I'll probably get one for my new Ram.

I checked the AM and FM. The AM has always been kinda spotty on reception even with the OEM antenna. There wasn't a huge change in that either.

Nice! Mine is, I think, the 7" version from AntennaX. Same deal, no loss of reception.
