Default New to audio, want a bumpin setup. HIT ME

Ok guys i dont know much about audio but it is time to do the sound system in my truck..

I have the standard radio with the aux port in my 09. Not the one with nav etc.

I want to get a good setup, im not afraid to spend money for quality. I want some really good subs that are loud and hit hard.

What are some GREAT subs you all recommend? i want loud, clean, hard hitting subs

What amp to go along?

Do i need a new radio, if so what do you recommend?

THANKS

If you want quality and don't mind paying for it...get some Dynaudio Esotar 1200's

I love my Arc Audio Blacks, but loud would be the last word I would use to describe them

Start by getting a Net audio box. By far the best available for our trucks.

Then to properly guide you we will need to know a few things. What's your buget? Are you just looking to add bass to the stock mids and highs or do you want to do a complete system rebuild?

Options are endless. Pick a budget and goal. Do you only want subs, or do you plan to upgrade other speakers as well? You don't need a new head unit, but you'd benefit from one.

Ok,with that budget here is what I would do.
Like I said I recommend one of the boxes from net audio. I'm not sure which cab your truck has so I can't point you to the exact box.

Subs: one of these should do.

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...-40CWR124.html

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...-11P3D412.html

Amp:
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...-P500-1BD.html

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...10ZX500.1.html

Now there's a couple of ways to get signal to the amp. For the set up you want I would recomend replacing the head unit. This will give you more tuning flexibility, get more power to your mids and highs, and bluetooth hands free. If you are ok with replacing the radio then here's a few.
Double din
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...FH-X700BT.html.
Single din
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...H-P8400BH.html

If you want to keep your factory radio then I'd run this to get signal to your amp.
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...-Gray-LC6.html
This unit takes your factory speaker outputs and converts them to a clean RCA signal to your amp.

Last but not least you will need a amp wiring kit.

That should get you great sound and you'll be ready to add on a four channel to run your mids and highs later on if you choose.

The kenwood excelon shallows are a good choice.

I had them in a downfiring box in my ext cab silverado on a kicker zx750.1.
Best shallows subs ive heard, although i havent heard jl tw-5 or the shallow type r's, but also cost alot more.

Theres also the sundown shallows, ive heard great things about them too.

And to even everything out, the best thing ive done was replace the dash 3.5s with a set of kicker ks 3.5" speakers.
They realllly helped out the mids and highs. I have a pioneer deh3500ix deck also.

New audio build in progress

With the Net Audionboxes you don't have to run shallow subs. The extended cab model will fit a Alpine Type R. Check out this video.
