Default 2008 Ram 4.7L

I have been experiencing some ticking/knocking sound in the front right of my truck. It only happens when I am in idle at a stop light and the car is in drive. When I put the truck into Nuetral or Drive the sound goes away. my buddy said this may be tie end rods that may need worked on. Any ideas or suggestions on what to do?

Tie rod ends? You mean those metal, tubular pieces that connect to and turn the knuckle? If you are sitting, I don't see how the tie rod ends would make noise. By putting it in neutral you're taking the load off the suspension, but I still don't see how that would affect the tie rod ends if you're not moving. Now if you were moving and turning, then maybe. Does it tick in park? I'm thinking you've got a something going on with the tranny. I know little to nothing about them, so I won't even begin to guess. Have you got out of the truck and listened to verify that the noise is coming from the right front?

I have that same issue, it's been driving me nuts. Mines still under powertrain warranty but I've hadn't had time to take it in. I notice it plain as day, others say they don't hear anything. A light knock barley heard over the engine noise and as soon as I put it in gear it stops. Sounds like it coming from the drivers side down low
