Mine has been similar on the last 2 trucks. Wonder if it is the fuel quality as in the 10% ethanol lowering actual mileage vs what regular 100% gas would get? Might explain why some people have a fairly accurate estimate vs others being off depending on where you live and the fuel you have access to.

I can agree to that. I took a road trip to South Carolina a little while ago and had the treat of finding a 100% gas station - MPG, HP, TQ, everything when way up. Felt like I had a new truck with the power and response it had.

Somedays around here I feel it would be better to just ride a horse to work...fed with grain alcohol

I don't see how any of you non lifted guys are seeing 13mpg.. I got 2012 quad cab 4x4 big horn with 3:55 and I've never seen 13 mpg usually average 16 in town in the winter and 19 highway winter and in the summer I usually see 18 in town and 22 on the highway.. This last weekend I went camping pulling 16' pop up and a bed full of fire wood and I averaged 18.2 the hole trip down the highway running 115 kmh

Wait... WHAT?

I wish I could ever see those numbers.

I have a 2012 crew cab 4x4 3:92 and am lucky to see 13 in town and 16 on hwy hand calculated. Usual is 11.5-12 city and 14-15 hwy and I drive it pretty easy.

I added the interceptor and that helped about 1 mpg overall. Maybe my truck sucks... Literally.

Maybe the gear is what makes the difference..

That's the only thing I could think of...

Or the quality of fuel in California really is that poor.

My 2012 Ram 1500 5.7 4x4 QC with 3.92 and the 20" wheels gets 12.5 to 13 in town. On the highway at 75 its 16.5 at 70 its 17.5 at 65 its 18.5 at 60 its a little over 19mpg all hand calculated. My truck has about 18,500 miles. These results are from several long road trips experimenting with the different speeds usually loaded with at least 1 motorcycle and camping gear.

I've noticed similar results when going over 55 mph. These trucks are like pushing a brick into the wind. (not that any other brand would be different)
