I had mine out this weekend and put hid in. I did have to take the grill out, then there is two bolts on the side of the light towards the grill you have to take out then there is a flap in your inner fender liner you have to open and push up on a clip in there with a long screw driver then it will come out. Not the greatest instructions i know but hopefully this helps

can be done, extensions are needed, but honestly it is easier to just take the grill off.

Taking the grill off makes it much easier. Just take the 4 bolts out of the grill and the 2 long ones out of each headlight pain in the ass. The pop the cover as stated in the fender liner and feel around for a white clip and slide it and than just wiggle it out. This is one of the worse designs I have seen. You would think in a truck this big they could have left a hole to get your arm in rather than taking the truck apart. The fogs take like 5 min. Crawl under and swap the out. Also if your going with HiD's put some dielectric grease in all the connections and wrap them with tape. I have had more hid kits got bad from water getting in and rotting the connections the cheap bulb grease at auto zone will save you a headache down the road.
