man that sounds interesting, so with all that one wouldnt be too far from 600whp with supercharger so i could get them installed and run them normally until i get my kit?

Yes, they can be run with or without boost. Be realistic with your goals, 600rwhp will be at the top end of where you could dream of being. A more realistic number running just 12psi of boost with some water meth to keep it safe would be 525-575rwhp. The stock rwhp is around 340 and a Ripp is putting people around 460-475 depending on tuning (and if you got a stage II kit before they disappeared), altitude, etc. *currently* without much room to upgrade boost levels. There are lots of factors that affect your results, so keep that in mind.

12-14psi is also the max you'd be able to get out of the head unit Ripp uses. After that you'd have to upgrade to a V-4 or Ysi and completely retune.

All depends on the shop you get to do it. I would do the swap myself if it was mine, but I'm handy around a hemi block. You need to pull the engine, tear down, swap parts, reassemble, and reinstall. It won't be cheap, probably an 18hr minimum to R&R, I'm not sure what the book states though. Takes me about 4 hours to prep engine/bay for removal and an hour to pull the block.

You don't have to pull the rotating assembly, just remove one con rod at a time, swap piston, and reinstall. Might be a good time to swap in ARP2000 rod studs or use new OEM ones.

Question for everyone, I know it will be a while before we get a kit for the 2014 Ram 1500's. However when a kit does become available I plan on purchasing it.... before doing so I wanted to ask the question:

Given that the 8 Speed Transmission in the newer trucks are rated at about 140 ft-lb's of torque more than the 6 speeds, do you think a transmission build will be necessary?

I would be going for 6 lbs of boost, which would probably make around 550 ft-lbs at the crank.....

Only time will tell with the 8-speeds. We need tuning for the '13+ to be able to get the HP up to a point where we will find the weakest link in the system. Now, ZF does make a great transmission and they have higher rated transmissions along the same 8-speed line, one of which will be going behind the stage III scat pack cars, so there may be hope for aftermarket support, especially given that it's finally the same transmission that's in the LX cars and not the bastard child of the Mopar community.
