Default Storage Compartment Organization

So, I have the buckets in the front & the 8 speed, that leaves a big empty hole where the shifter used to be. Has anyone came up with a way to use that space efficiently? Does anyone make an insert yet for that space that is more usable? While I'm asking, what about the center console? It's just a huge hole that's starting to fill with junk?

Any creative ideas out there? Thanks!
Mike

Nothing for the shifter but wal mart had an assortment pack of interlocking black plastic office drawer dividers for about $4. The longer ones sit snugly in the console bin about halfway down allowing for another layer of storage and a place to put smaller items. (I lined the dividers to prevent rattling.)

That was my thought as well, to fashion up some homemade dividers for cheap.

Thanks Scott!

Do you (or can you) get a picture of this?

Sorry, unable to attach pics. Couldn't find online either. Was in office supplies section.

Apparently my wife and stepson have assumed that that "compartment" is a trash can. It needs a sliding/retracting cover.

I think MN13Laramie is talking about the massive open bin that used to house the 6 speed console shifter but is now an awkward, difficult to utilize, empty mass when equipped with the 8 speed knob, though that console safe is awesome. I like what Chevy did on the new Silverado with their center console space. It has a lip that will hold a cellphone or tablet upright.
