Default 2 questions regarding Nav Unit/Radio

Just got the pickup and have 2 questions.

1: On my 2011 Jeep Wrangler, you could store over 500 songs on the actual unit itself. I cant locate a button on the radio that would indicate that you can store songs on the actual unit itself. I noticed there is a USB port that im assuming you can have songs on but then youd have to shuffle through them all and they wouldnt be organized like on the Jeep.

2: Several times over the past few days my screen goes all weird and resets itself. Sometimes it just goes black and then none of the controls work. Its not until I turn the truck off and start it again that it resets itself. Any ideas?

Thanks.

These radios no longer store music tracks internally.

Yep, resets are common as are other issues. Have your dealer update your radio to the latest version, if it already has the latest version then welcome to the club. Many of us are waiting on fixes for all sorts of strange behaviors.

thanks for the help, assumed others are seeing issues as well. Sucks on the not storing music deal. That was by far the best option Id ever had on a vehicle.

I liked the 2012 radio better myself, not only could you store music, it played DVDs, displayed the song or artist on the SXM preset buttons, AM/FM and SAT reception was better as well.

Except for the larger screen, which the NAV screen really isnt THAT much bigger and thats what counts, the new 8.4 seems like a bit of a downgrade to me from the '12 and down radios. Not to mention the crazy driver 1/2 settings and other weird problems.

Granted at first the mygig radios had their share of black screens and other hardware/software problems, at least on the older trucks you could still use the HVAC if the radio quit.
