Default Best City MPG Gains?

I've got an '07 SLT Big Horn Quad Cab that I bought a couple of years ago. I love the truck, but its city MPG is KILLING me. I'm a general contractor in Denver, with all of my projects located in and around the downtown area, and I'm putting close to 100 miles per day on my truck. It's totally stock (to the best of my knowledge) with the exception of a Spectre air filter in the factory CAI. It's got a fresh set of plugs, the oil is changed every 3,000 miles, with Sea Foam through the tank and crank case at that same interval, and I'm running 91 octane. On a good day, I can get it to do 11 MPG. On an average day, it's down around 10.5, and on a bad day it will read 9.6. I'm light on the gas pedal, and I have an LED indicator to tell me when the MDS is kicking in, which I try to make happen as often as possible. What can I do to this thing to get it to run more efficiently? Even a 2 MPG improvement would save me around $150.00 a month, so I'm open to any suggestions.

Thanks!

are you carrying a lot of weight in the back?

that's pretty low MPG, even for strictly city driving. I would guess you could at least manage 13/14.

I get that kind of mileage but I have 35" mud tires so there's my reason. You are totally stock. (i have the same truck, just not big horn).

You could get a tuner like superchips to see if that helps. I'm can't guarantee the gains would be worth the money spent but tuners provide the best results for a single purchase.

other guys end up getting a new CAI set up, bigger throttle bodies, free flowing exhaust and a less restrictive y-pipe to notice MPG/power gains. But all that money...don't think it'd be worth it in your case.

what gears do you have? for around town you'd get the best out of 3.92s. If you have 3.55s or even 3.21 then that's probably why you are suffering.

Ah. Dammitt, I didn't even think about my gear ratio. I'm getting that mileage with no load and no spare. I've got the 20" wheels with 33's.

As far as the expense is concerned, any mod that could get me up to 13/14 would be saving me in the neighborhood of $250.00 to $300.00 a month, so I would be open to something relatively expensive.

A friend of mine mentioned that my cat might be clogged. Any Idea how I would go about checking that?
