I definitely will be posted a video once I get it tuned a deleted. I bet you'll be in a Cummins 2 weeks after it haha.
I have told myself I would wait 2 years so I could hunt down a 6 speed 2012 cummins used with low KM that some rich old guy bought and never used for anything except the odd trailer tow.. By then I will hopefully have enough mula built up and be done school to swing it.. And then.. The fun begins.

Good plan. By that time there should be some of them out there. Might be kinda hard to find one with low KM's though because lots of the old guys that do that tend to keep them for quite a while because they have no reason to upgrade. You should be able to find something though.

Deal, in return you can buy an 8" lift kit and send it up my way

I've done a ton of reading and research in the past few days and I'm leaning more and more towards just deleting it now. The only downside is losing the powertrain warranty but from what I've read, a lot of the problems that guys have and need the powertrain warranty are or are caused by the emissions equipment. So if I get rid of that my chance of having issues goes way down. Plus the less time with the exhaust and soot running through my engine, the better!

You're right a lot of the problems do seem emissions related. I think I'll wait until I have 10-15000 miles then delete. I figure by then any huge problems should be showing.

Ya that's my thought exactly! With the amount of driving I do at about 10,000 miles in 5 months.... that's why I was planning on waiting until February or so before deleting. I might still end up holding off until then just for the added assurance.

I did end up finding out what the squeak was that my truck was making when I shut it off; just alternator pulley still spinning for a second after the engine stopped. No big deal.... but while I was looking for that I did notice that there was a ticking sound coming from my CAT/DPF. Is that typical? Or is something up with that thing? Might be all the more reason to remove it My truck's going back to the dealership tomorrow to have one of the interior door panel lights replaced so I'll bring up the ticking to them and see what they say.

wow you drive alot. I barely do 1000 miles a month. with how quick you rack them up i would wait for sure.

that ticking sound might be from shutting your truck off during a regen. ive seen a few threads about it.

Am I considered a traitor as I read this convo on diesels while sitting in my work f350. I also notice the clicking sound the odd time like your talking about Brandon when I drive this.

And Brandon as much as I just wanna say rip the damn thing out and delete it. I would recommend holding off for a bit because you drive a ton of km's. Give the truck a few months to fully break in and catch up to that large amount of driving .

Ya I commute to work at least 80 km (50 miles) a day and then I often have to go visit job sites as well so that adds on to it. I've owned my Cummins for about 5 and a half weeks now and I have about 3700 km (2300 miles) on it already. It adds up pretty quick.

Oh okay, that could be. That brings up another question I had... is there supposed to be a message in the EVIC when it's doing a regen? I've never seen anything but I thought I read in a few threads that it's supposed to tell you

Yup, definitely a traitor! lol. I'll research more on that clicking. This was the first time I've noticed it so I'd believe that it's the regen thing.

Unfortunately that is the smarter option for me. I still think I'm going to work on getting the tuner and delete stuff now just because I don't want to have to pay more later on if prices jump again. But it can just sit on the shelf for a while and I'll put it on in the spring. In the meantime I'll work on getting some of the other mods done that will make the tuner/deletes that much better.

you will only get a message if the dpf gets more than 80% full. then it will tell you to drive at highway speeds so it can clear it. (those arent exact words, but something like that). ive never seen the message in my 5500 miles. only real way to know is to watch your instant mpg in evic, or normally you can smell it.
