Not that anyone hasn't driven a real 440 (I've owned a few). It would be more of a pain in the ass than it is worth (without going full custom) to get it to run properly with the built in electronic controls. If he had 1st gen Ram, hell yeah it's a drop in.

Not saying it wouldn't be a major pain, just don't want anyone thinking that a 360 will perform better than a 440 Magnum.......

That 408 will be torquey but with a stock EFI it's just like having a smog 440
My stock 97 5.9 woke up when I put a carb & standard electronic ignition on it

500hp and cheap don't live in the same existence when it comes to these trucks. A big block build, in any configuration coming close to those numbers is going to cost. Not a cheap motor to build in the first place, then add the expense of engine management, fuel injection, cooling upgrades, making it fit, etc, youre looking at a pricey proposition. Building the stroker, same issues are there, build costs, fuel and engine management etc....
In the long run it'd be easier and probably cheaper to find a modern Hemi setup and go that route. A bone stock Hemi isn't far off from your production goals.
