Who hasn't had a hard down shit??

3.55, 8-Speed, Hemi here. I wasn't all that impressed with the responsiveness of the truck when I first got it but now that I have over 3,000 miles on it, it seems to have awaken!

Default Poll could be skewed a little.

I just recently bought a 2013 Big Horn CC 4x4 which had listed on its window sticker having the 3.21 axle. When I had first test drove it, I was surprised how strong it pulled with such a short gear. But I just chalked it up to having a stronger Hemi in it than my 09 had. The salesman even supposedly went inside and "confirmed" the 3.21 gears.

After recently checking out the stats and options for my truck on the Ram website, it became apparent to me that the 3.21 ratio is not an available option behind the Hemi in any of their 2013 4x4 Ram 1500 configs. The Ram website lists the 3.55 and 3.92 ratios as being the only available ratios. So I crawled under my truck to look at the rear axle and found a white label under the axle tube on the driver's side showing in large easy to read black letters, "3.55" .

Now my curiosity was peaked! I went back up to the Ram dealership and looked at a few other Rams to compare other Ram window sticker axle ratio claims to what I found underneath. As it turns out, my particular issue was not unique but actually rather common. I'm sure you can see where I'm going with this. If this window sticker axle ratio accuracy problem is common across the country, just how many people who took your poll are actually aware of what the true axle ratio of their truck is?

After some guys trucks showed up with a ratio different than that which they had originally ordered (or assumed based on the window sticker/spec sheet) ... hopefully everyone on this board climbed underneath their truck to take a look.

I have an 8 speed, Hemi, 3.92 (confirmed!) with LSD and am pleased.

The discrepancies between sticker and actual axle ratios has been noted for some time. If your sticker does state a different axle ration than what is in your truck Chrysler has replaced the gears for some owners. But - the axle ratio my be listed more than once on your sticker or a package may include an axle ration change. See attached image.

You can not rely on Ram's website for vehicle configurations. For the most part, it was designed without taking the 8-speed auto into consideration. When the 2013s first came out, the 8-speed wasn't available yet so they all came with a 6-speed. On a 4x4 Ram with a 6-speed, the 3.21 axle was not an option. The 3.55 was the standard ratio and the 3.92 was a $50 option. Once the 8-speed was released for sale, the standard ratio became 3.21 due to the much lower 1st & 2nd gears in the transmission. The 3.55 & 3.92 were $50 options. The thing is though that Corporate forgot to tell the dealers of the change and even neglected to put it on some window stickers. People were ordering a 4x4 Ram with the 8-speed and didn't need the additional towing of the 3.92 so they didn't specify an axle ration thinking they were getting the 3.55. When their Rams were delivered, they found that they had a 3.21 in them. I suspect your 3.55 is part of the Big Horn package but I'm not completely up to date on the package configuration so I could be wrong. Also, as shown above your window sticker will list the standard ratio but is supposed to list the optional ratio somewhere on the sheet also. Some window stickers made it though with the wrong information and yours could be one of them.

I have a Lone Star (same as Big Horn) hemi 4x4 with the 3.21 LSD, so it is available in that configuration. I have confirmed this by the axle tag. I believe 3.21 is only an option on 4x4s with the 8 speed.

My new 2013 Big Horn 5.7 Hemi has 3.55 with LSD. NO complaints, and yes, I did crawl under and verify.
