I have a 05 1500 5.7 with 90500 miles. Recently I hit a big unexpected bump. I was going about 25-30 and didn't see it until it was too late. Right after I hit it my check engine light came on. I didn't notice any performance issues after. I had to drive another 50 miles home and it seemed to be OK. But my concern is that I messed something up that just hasn't showed it self yet.. Any input will be helpful.
Go over the same bump at the same speed and it should go back out. I'm sorry I just couldn't resist. Check to see what code it is throwing and I'm sure someone will be able to point you in the right direction.
It turned on with the bump, it should turn off with the bump as well, right? Logical thinking on JW's part. Anyway, JW is right about one thing, without knowing what code it threw, it could be a million and one different things. Bent tie rods or control arms usually don't show up as a computer errors, but you still might want to put an eye on those to make sure they are not bent.
Yeah, the wife hit a bump hard in an 05 Chevy Equinox and had to reprogram it due to something called "Body Control Module". Fixed it, but there's a plan in the works. I got her to give it to my mother in-law in NC. I bought the wife a Hemi..............The only problem is, she says I have a diesel so I should drive the diesel (gotta work on that one). R...
