Default Adding evic succes

I just added evic to my 12 express. I used a 11 r/t cluster and evic switch #56046375Ab. Everything was plug n play. No wiring or flashing. My horn n wipers work and full control of evic. I took the wheel apart to remove thebezel and changed the switch and everything works fine

first i had to remove air bag then theres 4 screws that hold the bezel on after removing that you can change the switch. instead of getting a whole new wheel i used the vin for a 12 express with evic to get the switch part number. i didnt add audio controls because i think thats where the trouble is with having to add rdz sales code which isnt possible. ive heard of people saying there horn n wipers wont work after the swap. people also said you have to splice in wires and add wires. for me it was all plug nplay

Great job. I am glad to see someone complete this mod on a '12, I did the wiring mod to my '11 1500 swapping in an upgraded steering wheel and everything worked, as you also found the sales code was just for the radio buttons to work and I was able to get that added to my truck.

For yours it sounds like the wiring comes from the factory ready to go for communicating with the EVIC. Any chance the radio buttons are plug and play? maybe the system does not need the code to recognize the buttons.

Congrats on this mod. Can you give us an idea of how much the parts cost? Also, do you get MPG with this mod? Thanks for the info!

I got the cluster for 150$ on here and 50 or so for the switch. Yes the mpg shows up now as well as distance to empty. The trick is to find a cluster with mileage close to yours as it dosent transfer. After having it in for the day i put my st cluster back in. I have 2k miles until they match up
