Jhouse, does your truck have cruise control buttons on the wheel as well, my 2012 express has cruise on right side as well as two buttons on the left for STEP/RESET, did you have these? i dont think i can just add the evic buttons because then i would have to eliminate the said step/reset button?

Those are the buttons i had. The step on ours goes through the dif screens but on evic you have to be able to go to right and back also. It works the same way just with more options. On the evic you can reset by hitting that option. I have cruise on the right side too. It should work for you just fine

I just finished changing the cluster and steering wheel buttons and they work great. Thanks JHOUSE for your wright-up, it was my inspiration. The cost was less than $175. and now I have all the gauges and information I need.

If you end up getting a 730n rer radio or rhr or similar, the evic switch with the uconnect buttons is plug and play also. This thread helped me to pull apart and put together pretty easy. Thanks JHouse.

Chalk me up as another 2012er that did this as well. Used cluster from a '10 I believe. I initially installed an '11 sport steering wheel. When I did that the horn and cruise didn't work nor did the evic buttons. This can be remedied by sending your TIPM to a tuner and having them install sales codes needed for everything to work. Was going to do that but happened upon this thread. I took off the '11 sport wheel, reinstalled my stock steering wheel with new evic button and everything works perfectly. So for you '12 guys, just stick to '12 wheels/switches and you won't have to mess with adding sales codes or anything. Very happy to have it done finally!
