Wink mpg digital readout hit 30.3mpg

Yay! I was cruise control-ing my way to Palm Springs at around 55 miles per hour and for about 5 miles, my digital MPG readout managed to climb its way to 30.3. What's the best you all have done?

I have a 2013 2500 MegaCab with the 6.7L CTD and average 22 MPG! My highway number is 26 MPG. Not bad for a 6800 lbs 3/4 ton truck!

Hey, if you keep that up, the oil guys are going to send the men in black out to come see ya! Man, and to think back in the 70's and 80's, the max speed limit out there was 55mph. Trying to just go the posted speed limit out here in Texas, especially on the 130(average flow around 85-95mph), and your likely to get run over! But definitely, that 30.3mpg is very impressive! I'ma try that out on some of our access/frontage roads that have max of 55.

I can get 30 MPG easy.

Accelerate to 100, reset EVIC, coast until desired results.

WIN.

I was going 55mph basically the entire 80mile trip to Palm Springs. AC off. Windows down. I was in the slow lane. Everyone else can slow down or pass me please...it hovered around 24mpg for a while then crept up and up till it hit 30.3 then fell back down to 27/28 where it stayed for most of the trip.

I rarely ever go that fast, if I wanted to drive fast I'd be in a sports car that was designed for it!

People ask me all the time "What gas mileage do you get in that thing?" and my answer is always the same.

"I bought it to drive over your car if I needed to, and if your car slammed into me at 70 mph I'd be just fine while you'd probably be dead...what's 'gas mileage' anyways?"

Perfectly said bud. And with some of the threads with surviving accidents in Rams, all of them have said their truck made them a believer.

Thanks, I got rear-ended by an Escape in my '97 RAM 2500 HD once - it straightened out the rear bumper so I was thankful.

The Escape got a trailer hitch hole in the hood, lady on her cell phone strikes again!

I'd also like to remind all the kids out there to not speed in their trucks.

Define "speeding"

Yea I love the protection I feel in my truck, If someone is gonna rear end me.. they first gotta get through my ball, then the hitch/steel bumper, over 6 feet of box.. just to reach my back seat.. Bring it on smartcars.
