Default HELP! 2013 exhaust backfire

I recently installed a 14" magnaflow and the truck was fine. Few weeks later I removed the resignator and now when I hammer her down I backfires at about 4000 rpm. What could be causing this and how can I fix it? Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

You installed a straight through, free-flowing muffler and removed the resonators. You are going to be hearing these back fires now. However, you said you hear them when you romp on it. Does that mean while you are accelerating or when you lift off? Back firing when you lift off the throttle is normal but if it is spitting and popping when you are accelerating something is not right. What is causing the back fires while accelerating, i dont know but i can guarantee that the exhaust modifications you did are NOT causing it. Some thing ignition related...

I guess it could be when the trans is shifting, that would make sense.

No it is not bad, completely normal. It was happening with your stock exhaust on to, you just couldn't hear it.

Just seems weird. Doesn't seem like it should be normal

How is it not normal? When you a put a significantly freer flowing exhaust on any vehicle, you are going to hear the spitting and popping. Just the nature of the beast. I actually enjoy a little bit of crackling out of the pipes
