Default 2012 2500... Seized Caliper

Folks... never been dispointed with the answers I have gotten on here... so here goes...

I strongly believe my Passenger Side Front caliper is seized or sticking on my ram... I am getting excessive brake dust on this side and also have been getting the famous "warning" squeak when the brakes are a little hot (stop and go traffic). I am getting ready to bring it in to the dealer tomorrow and I want to be ready and know what to expect...

Vehicle:
2012 Ram 2500
SLT
22,000kms

1. Are the calipers covered under warranty?
2. If they are, will I be on the hook for the pads that were ruined by the bad caliper?
3. Should I be expected to swap out pads after only 22,000kms? I find this to be pretty early!

Let me know what you think!

Sebas

My buddy with a 2010 3500 had the exact same problem.. and it turned out they attributed it to the ujoint on that side. It was replaced under warranty, and solved the issue. I was unclear how one contributed to the other, but it apparently fixed it.

Good to know..
I have always had good contacts with this dealer so I am sure they will fix everything accordingly! Just want to know if I should be expecting out of pocket expenses!

I think with most things that get replaced by dealers they always try and get you on the hook for some of the cost. Good luck

if the caliper was frozen and destroyed the pads. the pads would be covered under warranty due to the fact that the caliper froze. But if it was a u-joint that caused the wear than more than likely they wont cover them. BUT in the end it all depends on the dealer.

My dealer just warrantied the plastic trim that is on top of the bed. I didn't say anything about them being loose. Picked up my truck from having it serviced and noticed they were very clean. asked about them. SERV advisor said they covered them under warranty. I was surprised since every one showed damaged from prev owner dragging things over them.

Well the dealer had the truck yesterday and all it needed was a front brake service... lots of gravel and dirt and grime stuck in there preventing the pads to slide properly... they did the service at no cost and all seems to work awesome now!
