Default mirror glass???

i have searched and still dont understand the instructions on removing the mirror glass from my 2012 without tow mirrors, i want to get the puddle lights out, i almost broke my mirror trying to disassemble it. can anyone link me to instructions with pictures or video?

If they are like my Longhorn mirrors (not tow, with a cover) then just use the power switch to lower the mirror as far as it will go, then use both hands and tug the top of the mirror outwards. It will scare you at first and will probably take some force to pull the glass out, but you will see it once you get it. Then work the glass off. You may have to jerk the mirror at the top. There are two little tabs that hold it on. Then once the glass is removed there are I think three screws (star) to remove that will take the cover off. The puddle light is attached to the cover and has little tabs that snap it in place. When you go to put the glass back on you will have to use both hands and ''snap'' it into place sharply. Try the controls up and down and tug gently on mirror glass to make sure it as been snapped into place securely. Hope this helps.
