Default Rust on fender flare! So bummed out

I have some corrosion bubbling the paint above my rear wheel well.it is only about an inch in size but I am super bummed out about it.

I'll probably take it to a local body shop to have it looked after before it gets worse.

Sad to have to deal with RUST before I'm even done paying for the truck...

I had a problem on my front fender about a year after I bought it and it started bubbling. I went by a body shop and got a quote. The guy at the body shop was a Mopar guy and told me this is ridiculous and I should swing by the dealer. Went to the dealer and it was considered a defect by Chrysler. I realize your truck is a 2010 and the warranty might not cover bubbling.

Anticorrosion perforation is 3 years with unlimited miles.
Anticorrosion perforation is 5 years 100,000 miles. It might be worth a shot swinging by your dealer. And I know bubbling is not perforation but who knows.

It's worth a try to check with them... I kind of feel like dealerships are pretty vague and dodgy when it comes to rust warranty issues. I can hear it now: "the rust has to have eaten a hole at least 27mm in size for warranty to kick in"...

I was rear ended in October 2011 and had to have the passenger bed side, tailgate, bumper, and exhaust replaced. The body shop actually cut off and saved the piece over the wheel well to show me how much it had rusted in the 10 months the truck had been on the road. I almost lost my mind. Now every spring and fall I take the wheel well liners out and spray Krown oil inside the seam. You can see there is four holes in the steel where it meets the outer bed panel where it's easy to get in there. So far no problems. Unlike the front fender where its bubbling now.

One of my rear fenders started bubbling directly over the wheel, on the outer body panel. I have a 2009, so it is still within the 5 year corrosion warranty. At first Chrysler rejected the claim, but i was persistent and got my dealerships service manager to back up the claim that it was due to rust forming under the paint, and not because of a scratch or dent. So they approved, and just waiting on the part to come in. They are going to replace the whole side of the bed. Ever since the intial discovery, i WD-40 the shit out of the other fenders. And when i feel that any existing rust has soaked enough of that stuff up, i'll switch to something thicker.

Get that claim in before that bubble pops.

Get some "Fluid Film" NAPA sells it. It ain't just Dodges, Toyotas, Fords and GM's rust as fast. My dad's GMC is newer than mine, half the miles, but the rear bumper ready to fall off. Gotta love road salt.

I just got the call today that my truck has been approved and to my surprise both front fenders are being replaced! I thought both would just be sanded and repainted but I guess this is a better way. To the OP definitely take it in
