One of the supervisors @ work recently asked me to take him a few miles and drop him off. He had a rental ford. It was a 4 door 1/2t 4wd. Had the v6 w/ twin hair driers. Of course as soon as I dropped him off and got out of sight I mashed it. Hey, you wanna make something run, put matched turbos on it. I would still have major reservations about long life . Besides that it's still phord any color you paint it. Would much rather push my Hemi than drive a phord.

I had a ecoboost the motor is awesome period. The power is sweet I had a 2012 crew cab FX4 weighted little over 6k with my grill guard and cover and me I ran 13.999 in the quarter mile tuned with livernois tuner. I never had problems with it I just wanted to come back to dodge. I wish I could put the ecoboost in my 2013 8speed ram to me that is the perfect truck.

How do you think the eco boost would do against a eight speed Hemi with 392 gears??

The 8speed, 3.92 rear would take it.

I work for a company with a large fleet of Ford pickups. We just purchased 2 EcoBoost pickups and I was not impressed. My company vehicle is an F150 Super Cab with the 3.7 V6. I like it way better than the EcoBoost. However, I would not give up my Hemi for all the F150's in the world. No comparison in my book. I have to watch myself when going from the F150 back to my Hemi so I don't get into trouble.

I'm kind of new here so I'll just say that I've been a Ford guy for over 30 years and have a 70 Maverick that I drag race (9.801@133 in the 1/4) and I pull it with my 08 Ram 1500/5.7l. I recently towed the car from San Jose to Portland Oregon (678 miles door to door) and pulled down 16mpg towing almost 5000lbs behind me..........at 65/70mpg in tow mode.
Not more than a week ago I had a 150 ecoboost pull up to me at a stop light..............we went at it till the next stop light and although he was ahead of me I could look over and see the expression on the guys face. Yes, my truck is only a 345hp but I've added a complete Airaid setup (now cert'd for C.A.R.B.) and ditched the old muffler for a Magnaflow and resonator and run 3" from the muffler to where the original pipe exited.
Now with that said I had an 88 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe with it's 210hp turbo 4cyld and 5spd............and with a different head an little larger turbo put down 250hp to the rear wheels...................and never had any issues with it in over 40k miles. I also had one of the first Buick V6 Turbo's in a LaSabre Sport Coupes and put 60k miles on it with no problems.
As someone said earlier, turbo's are a great way to make HP and if you are ever going through the Rockies in a naturally aspirated car...........try it with a turbo'd car..................at high altitudes you can loose as much as 25% with a naturally aspirated car and only 10% with a turbo'd car.
I just have never liked the looks of a Ford and the Hemi is the reason I went with my Dodge..............plus it makes a great tow vehicle for the race car..............IMHO
