Default 4.7 Engine clatter

just purchased a 2005 Ram 4WD with 132K miles. The engine seems to clatter louder than my old chevy. Louder when cold. When warm still clatters but quieter. Engine is smooth running on all cyls. Is this a characteristic of this 4.7 engine with these miles and should I be concerned. The truck is physically beautiful and in very nice shape overall. Thanks.

Got 117K on mine. I wouldn't say I have a clatter, but I've definitely noticed a tick developing. However, I would not say it's a characteristic of the 4.7. Do you know when the last time the oil was changed out and what weight? I know it's a band aid, and snake oil at that, but throw a can of engine restore in it and see what it does.

changed just before I bought it---400 miles ago. I assume 5-30 but I don't know for sure.
