Default 2013 Ram 1500 Laramie Level kit/tire question

I have been sifting through a bunch of threads trying to find the answer for my situation but just cant find what im looking for.

I have installed a ProComp 2.5" front level kit pn 61180 today and waiting on my rear spacers to arrive.

I have the factory 20'' wheels.

I also have 35x12.5r20 ProComp Xtreme A/T's pn 501235

I have read that when installing a 35x12.5 with a level kit you want to use a 1/4'' wheel spacer.

What is the cause for requiring the spacer. Do the tires rub on suspension at full lock? or is it due to rub on fender or front bumper during turning? I do not like the idea of running a spacer and if its just a matter of some trimming, Id rather do that.

answered my own question. Job is done, no rub but very close to upper control arm. Looks great!

Sounds great! Pics would be awesome. I didn't realize Pro Comp made the kit for a 2wd. Did you take measurements and what's the difference between the front and rear? I'd like to do 35" Mickey Thompsons once I put some cash together. Thanks!

Yes, the 1/4" spacers are required to clear the upper A-arm. Generally they are needed for any tire wider than a 285 but it depends on the way the truck was built and when it comes the 35x12.5's, what the actually measurements of the tires are. Some actually measure 12" while some measure up to 13.5".

Glad your set up worked out though. As Cowboy said, a few pictures would be good

Ill be putting on some spacers for next year, if I dont go with a new set of wheels for summer. Winters will be going on these wheels in a few months so Ill run it the way it is for now.
