Default Programming heat/AC control for remote start???

When I bought the truck the sakesmen said that one feature was that you can program the truck so when it is below a certain temp outside the heat will come on, heated seat and steering wheel, when its above a certain temp the ac will come on and the vented seats when you hit the remote start. I havent spent much time thinking about it lately but with having to leave for work earlier the last few mins and the temps being near freezing this week at night I have been thinking of it,

sat in the driveway for a few mins after work today going through the settings trying to find this option and couldnt find it. please dont tell me with all this technology that this option doesnt exist?? I know I can leave the heat on or AC on to where I would like it but some days at work are 13+ hour days and the last thing I am thinking about when I get home is what the weather will be the next morning and how I am going to set up my climate control.

You have to leave the HVAC system on Auto. Then when you remote start the vehicle it will use the external temperature to determine if the truck needs air or heat. I will also turn on drivers side heated or vented seat and the heated steering wheel if it deems necessary. I have found the auto setting works very well and I just leave my temperature set to 65-70 degrees.

There is a setting in the EVIC just for this...you need to go to the "Auto on Comfort and Remote Start" in the settings section of the EVIC. From there, there's a selection for the seat heat/cool to turn on when you remote start. It's referred to as the "Remote Start Comfort System" on page 289 of the owners manual. Remember, tho...once you hit the "start" button, the seat heat turns off and you need to manually turn that on to keep it on.

Thanks for the responses, as the temps get/stay cool I will take note of weather the heat comes on or IF it gets warm enough I will watch for the Ac and vented seats!

After looking at this thread I went into the set up and made sure the setting was checked. My heat automaticaly comes on but the stearing wheel and heated seats does not activate. It's 20* in philly this morning so it all should have started, correct??

Yes, under 40 degrees F, if enabled in the EVIC, you should see both the driver's heated seat and steering wheel heat switch LED indicators on. This applies to MY13 and 14 vehicles. I don't have any knowledge of pre-MY13 behaviors so I do not know if this applies to MY09.

Not to sidetrack this but has anyone noticed that when you select auto on comfort in the settings screen, then exit that screen and go back that it is no longer checked? I can't tell whether the auto on is on or off until I actually try and start the vehicle.

I see this same behavior on other selectable options also. I can't believe they actually release software that has every indication it was never tested.
