Yes Ramboxes are bigger 5'7" box carries 150lbs each while the one on the 6'4" bex carries 300lbs each, not sure on the 8' box, don't see too many of those ones in Canada.

REALLY glad I got mine too. Use them for tool box, hauling groceries, safety gear (for the job) and I can get the kids booster seats in there (barely). Wasn't for sure before I bought. Don't think I would want to be without them next time.

I could not agree more on the value of having the Ramboxes. When I was searching for my truck it was very difficult to find them on the lot. I even had salespeople telling me that they are not really that useful. BS! As soon as I saw them I was sold and am happy I waited to order my truck with them.

Has anyone found an aftermarket supplier that offer various partitions for the inside of the box?

functionally they are a good idea...and sounds like they serve you all well.

personally, they break up the lines of the truck and I would be scared if someone knew I had my tools in there, they would damage the truck trying to get them open.

I opted to go without them, mainly for the appearance.

Doesn't look like there is a rambox option for a truck with an 8ft bed. I can't build a 1500 or 2500 with an 8ft bed and ram box on ram's website. Can anyone verify this?

Salesman generally invent facts to benefit themselves. People should adopt a completely incredulous if not cynical attitude toward sales people when shopping or ordering a vehicle. Do your own due diligence and explore your options before visiting the dealership.

That is spot on, most excellent, advice.

I wonder if Ram has a patent on the storage box system. The concept and execution is so good that I am shocked that other truck makers have not copied the system.

Replication of another makers hot design, concept or feature is a time honored doctrine among automotive manufacturers. It saves R&D costs, ensures a successful feature or option introduction, and enables rapid insertion into their product line.

I drove Chevy Avalanches for about 10 years and probably still would be if Chevy had not phased them out this year. Loved the truck box concept they had and it was a primary purchasing reason for the Ram. So yes, Chevy has had this truck box concept for many years. I hope they or someone else picks up the fold down rear cab wall design and factory designed toneau cover someday - both worked excellent on the avalanche.

I did a review on the holster system Mopar sells and the plastic dividers for the Rambox in another thread, here is an update....

Holster system - works as advertized BUT due to the add of the electronic locking module, there is not enough room for a second scoped long gun in the outer position. The pic above is from a 2012 or earlier Ram version that had the manual lock mechanism. The electronic lock mechanism is much larger and takes space that the scope would normally.

Partition system - works and looks nice but I am finding the horizontal plates that cover the front and back deep wells are bowing/warping due to a combination of heat and weight of items stacked on them. I am not real happy about this, so it's hard to recommend at the price Mopar wants for them. The vertical partitions work perfectly. I am thinking about taking my plastic horizontal plates [which are all 4 custom sized] and tracing them out onto heavier plywood to cut out stiffer plates....

They have to be one of the most expensive coolers around!

On the other hand.. If they would have made them a bit smaller... As in not using up any bed space, I would have probably gotten them. Being able to carry just one long gun/fishin rod, or one row of drinks per side is big enough for me. But that's because I need the bed space.
