I see a restriction on RamBoxes if you pick a low volume paint option (usually the construction colors...). This is my personal recollection but I remember something about the lids warping on the 8' box which is why they aren't available yet.

Tried "building" a new 2500 on the RAM website today, and (unless I was doing something drastically wrong) it kept telling me that I had to give-up the full size spare tire if I wanted the RamBox. That just doesn't sound accurate. Could it be?

Oh oh. Don't say the word warping unless you are Capt. Kirk.

I just waxed my Ram STorage Boxes to deal with the finger prints on the bitch'n black Laramie. Love em!

Default Is that a real spare tire?

Spare tire? Just had the A/C guy doing some work. His truck runs on propane gas. Get this....the tank is actually shaped exactly like a spare tire so that it fits in the van's spare tire cavity. Smart. He said it holds 25 gallons.

My 2014 Laramie 2500 4x4 w/Cummins was shipped last week, and I'm waiting for delivery. One of the reasons I ordered my truck was the RAMBOX! My dealer had probably 80 RAMs on the lot. TWO had the boxes. The sales guy was trying to get me to buy a '13 (of course, move the stock). I had made up my mind that I wanted what I wanted and not what they wanted to sell me. I have a 2012 28' Airstream that I'll be towing. My rig has a hitch system (ProPride) that requires the use of a socket and breaker bar. Also, if you tow, you ALWAYS need a place for chocks, jack foot, etc. The RAM BOX is the absolutely perfect solution to this. Right there where you want them. I'm sure that because they add around $1,000 to the cost people opt out. And, they do shrink the bed a bit. I'm willing to trade all that for locked storage that's handy. Very cool feature, IMHO.

But were you able to order the full-size spare with the RamBox? Using the RAM builder website, it won't let me have both options....

Forwarded off to people to check. I see a full size spare if and only if you delete the pickup box on the code guide (which is confirmed by the web site).

Got clarification:

Spare tire is standard in all configs EXCEPT with the delete box option. Remove the box, remove the spare tire. That option on the build and price tool is to add the tire back when you remove the box.

Makes sense.... This RAM "build-a-truck" site is one of the LEAST intuitive sites that I've worked with....
