Default Aftermarket Remote Start/lock

After months of research about adding remote start/lock system I finally had one installed by a local Auto Electronics Shop that's been in business for 40 yrs.+. All the Chrysler dealers in my area (5) said factory system could not be added to my 2011 Ram ST. Finally, one parts manager said their dealership farms out all vehicles like mine to this shop all the time.
Visited the Auto Sound place and wallaa! No-Problem. Fully plug and play. No wire cutting, and the brochure even has Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep & VW logos implying they are accepted by Chrysler. The Technician did a superb install job and only took 45 minutes. Also advised unit is warrantied for as long as I owned the truck.
Price installed $387.00 Can.
Prostart Remote/Keyless Entry system 1 way Starter part# PS-3175,
Expresskit Model # RKE9 -(required)

i heard of another set up that was similar, this is what the guy said:

I stumbled across this AWESOME little mod on another forum for my new 2012 Ram Express. What you need to use is an Xpresskit.com DB-ALL and CHTHD1 T-Harness. I installed this set up yesterday morning in, wait for it...about 5 min., no joke! 5min. Works great!!...it uses the factory remote so no need for another bulky remote in your pocket or purse. All I do now is push the lock button on my factory keyless remote 3 times and she starts right up. It will run for 10min. The horn honks when it shuts off to let you know. If you step on the brake pedal while remote started it will shut off. I am so HAPPY with this set up! You can not beat it for the price, and you can do the install yourself to save labor costs. Let me know if you have any questions. I hope this makes someone on here as happy as I am!!

I got the same D-ball for my truck, and like you said, 5 minutes and works great, hardest part was tying up the wires. So easy Plug and Play. Oh and it was all under $75.

Have had the DB-all for over 1 1/2 years, love it, easy, simple install, great product. But I think from what the OP wrote he did not have remote locks, so not sure he could of run just the DB-all system and probably required a kit that came with FOB's

Default Remote start

My Ram did not have the fobic keys I think they're called, just the old fashioned style keys and there lie the problem. The Prostart system has fobs that I have to carry but they are very compact so I don't have a problem with that. System works great and I would have installed myself but have had 4 spine surgeries so I let others do the walking now.
