I've got Mobil super 5000 5w-20 in the truck right now. $10.99 for 5 qts on sale @ walmart. It has Chrysler 6395 approval.
Sometimes the easy answer is the best answer.

You be sure they will ask for Receipts for proof you changed it by garage, dealer or yourself....oil type and brand would be on receipt? I understand on all warranty work its the first thing they want!! Like previous post said...don't give em a loaded gun...lol

Was actually referring to the Synthetic Mobile 1. Should have been more clear.

How is any dealer going to know what effin' oil you put in your motor? There are no markers specific to each brand of oil. Basically, since oil breaks down at different rates in different engines (even the same makes and models) after a thousand miles or so its impossible to tell exactly what kind of oil it is. So unless you run royal purple (its purple when its clean) and your engine has less than 1k on that oil change when it fails, they will never know, unless you tell them.

You can tell when the oil is new what brand it is. after that, its all speculation. I checked my receipts. They all say MOBIL 5w-20 OIL. Thats it. LOL.

lol...i see...so what do you do when they ask for your receipts for proof you bought oil and when you changed it?

Each time I change oil I put the receipt in glove box since I do most oil changes myself. The receipt indicates 'Mobil One" or Ultra Etc. right on it with date.I write my mileage on the back of the receipts. The receipts would then indicate mileage and dates to include type and brand of oil on receipt. If you just say you changed your oil every so many miles and what you used with no receipts they are not going to honor any repairs.

We had company vehicle once (Ford 150) and we never had all the oil change receipts so they refused to fix a motor once under warranty. Always kept receipts from that day forward with mileage on receipts.

Oil? It's being said by many that if we use it Chrysler will void our warranty since Mobile one does not meet the ms-6395 specification on sensors. Sure would like to use mobile one in my heap.
So are you suggesting in this "void the warranty" language, if you have trouble with your AIR CONDITIONING, say, that your dealership with "brand test" the motor oil before starting repairs?

OR - are you thinking MOBIL 1 will allow the pistons to DRAG and slap the cylinder wall, ruining the engine and your dealership will chemically test the motor oil and ID the oil - then refuse repairs?

Who, are the (exact quote) people you refer to here: being said by many ?

I'm not suggesting any thing as I use Mobil 1 in every thing I own that has a motor except my new Ram . I put pennzoil ultra in the new ram.

If I would use Mobil 1 and have any motor issues they are going to ask for receipts of what oil was used that meets chrysler standards
and at what mileage intravels?

No void language at all!! Nothing said about AIR CONDITIONING!! If you use any oil NOT certified for Chrysler MOTOR OIL USE they do not have to HONOR the repair for the MOTOR under CHRYSLER warranty!

The OIL CHANGE receipts you produce will have documented type of oil,Brand,Weight and Mileage at each Oil change. I suggested Chrysler MAY NOT HONOR the warranty if you have used OIL that does NOT meet Chrysler specification. Of course if you have no record of any oil Changes performed as Chrysler recommended its going to VOID your MOTOR warranty.

I never came up with any STUFF!!! Its just plain common sense!!!!
