Default Cooling system leaks

After owning my.4x4 1500 Hemi for a few months now I have learned a few things tha might help some of you or maybe not!!! The biggest lesson is that no matter how many opinions you receive on a topic you will probably have to experience the situation yourself to correct your particular issue, unless of course you take your Ram to the shop to make the repair! I recently had a cooling system leak that showed up after replacing the radiator, hoses, t-stat and etc. it was not coming from any obvious place - water pump weep hole etc.
After asking several questions and paying 29.00 to just answer.com I decided to tear into it myself. The issue was not as described by the tech on just answer
(the timing cover gasket), it was the drivers side inlet from the water pump to the timing cover! After discovering this and thinking through the problem post repair, water probably would have been in the oil if the timing cover was leaking.
Thankfully that was not the problem and the repair was less invasive than I was originally led to believe. I will spend more time investigating the problem and ask questions on this site next time!! I hope this may help some of you!

It also helps to find a mechanic that will talk to you. Mine knows he will make the money on the big issues. So he will often offer a suggestion on smaller stuff to help me out.
