Well on a 285/75/17 the aspect ratio is 0.75. Meaning that the side wall of the tire is 75% of the tread width (285). So as long as the tread width and the aspect ratios are the same between the tires you are comparing there shouldn't be too much of a difference.

I'm seeing them from 33.3" to 34.1 " depending on brand. The Toyo Open Country is the tire I'm going with and listing for it says 34.1" Dia. and 11.6" wide. Thank you for explaining to me how its figured. Every day I learn something new is a good day. Does anyone have a recommendation on where to buy my wheels and tires.

The Toyo's are definitely a great tire. Are you look at the MT's or the AT's? Either way, you'll love them.

Contact the guys at Bully's Performance (sales@bullysperformance.com). Be sure to mention that you're a forum member and they'll send you a quote with discounted pricing. When I was shopping around for mine wheels/tires on my last truck they were the cheapest. Plus they have amazing customer service and are great to work with. I highly recommend them for anything you need for your truck.

I think I'm going with the Toyo Open Country MT 285/75R17 with a 17"x9" XD Spy Gloss black wheel. I haven't got any prices yet but plan to buy end of the week. I hope they look nice on the truck. Thanks again to all for the helpful info. I'll post some pictures once there installed.

Nice. Talk to Bully's about getting you a full wheel and tire package. You'll save a lot that way. Plus they'll come mounted, balanced, TPMS sensors installed and ready to go on the truck.

I have sent a couple emails and tried calling a few times as well. 1-855-432-3278 is the only number I was able to find. Am I getting rambunctious wondering why they haven't got back to me or does it usually take a few days? I also talked to RimZone and they told me a LT285/75R17 would rub. They said a 33 tire is as big in diameter as I could go. Any comments?

I know they were switching over servers this past week so it's possible that your email got lost. Email Andrew directly at andrew@bullysperformance.com. As long as the email gets through he should be back to you within a few hours. Otherwise post up a thread in their section of the forum saying what you want and hopefully one of them will get back to you pretty quick.

33" is stock size on 1500's. A 285/75/17 measures 33.8"x11.2" That's only 0.4" bigger around the diameter of the tire. You'll clear those no problem.

Put a post on there site and within minutes they responded. Emailed back and forth a few times today and now I'm waiting on my new wheels and tires to arrive. The people at Bully's performance seem very knowledgeable and gave me options. I ended up buying a set of Toyo Open Country AT2 LT285/75R17's and 17x9 Fuel Hostage Black wheels with a +1 offset. I can't wait to try them on.
