jst is on a distinguished road
Default 1-2 shift is late.. Dealer is stumped.

Truck is a stock 09 1500 sport 4x4 crew (35k original owner). It feels like a shift and a half. I feel no slipping and truck pulls clean hard in all gears. Problem is consistent warm or cold. 2-3 shudders as usual (mds bs). Dealers 1st swing an a miss was upped shift points without consulting rev limiter ( wind-bog-hard shift). Second swing was them saying they have to drop the pan for more diagnosis on the 4th day they had it (second visit). Only thing I dont like about this truck is the dealer. Please don't say the word warrentee. Thanks.
Jason

I run a Sonnax line pressure booster. It firmed up my shifts. I believe the Diablo tuners let you adjust rev limiter and shift points. I feel safer having my dyno tuner guy adjust that stuff than the dealer. Not crapping on my dealer, but my tuner guy knows his $hit.

I won't say the "W" word but I will recommend another service department? I'm sure that your dealer has access to TCM or ECM updates so hopefully they tried that. But I think the man you want to really explain what's going on with your trans is TransEngineer. Good luck bud.

Have they run it with a scan tool to see what's actually going on? They should be able to monitor current gear, target gear, and TCC status. That will tell them when the 1-2 upshift starts, when it ends, and whether the TCC is also changing state (maybe that's your extra half-shift).

As far as the shift being "late," have them check the shift point by monitoring throttle angle and output RPM (and seeing when Target Gear changes to 2nd). At 80-90 throttle, 1-2 should occur at 1890 output RPM. At 60 throttle, about 1660 output RPM. At 40 throttle, about 1100 output RPM. At 30 throttle, about 800 output RPM. So see if the shift points are correct (they should be).

Also check the 2C clutch volume index (CVI) and see if it's way high (it should usually be between about 35 and 60, I think).
