Default 2012 Ram Sport Crew Cab tire sizing?

Hey everyone!

This is my first post on here and while there are many questions about tire sizing on here, I feel like mine is a little different... See, I have a 2012 Sport 1500 Crew Cab and I don't want to do a leveling kit. I love the way my Ram rides and I don't want to change it... However, I live in North Dakota so I'd like a set of AT tires that I can run in the winter and go offroad some in the winter, yet keep my stock rims and tires for highway usage.

Anyway, I'd love a set of SRT10 rims in black or some
Method Double Standards. I'm looking for the right SRT10 rims but I'd love to fit some Wranger DuraTracs onto my Ram with either rims. What is the max tire size I can go in DuraTracs without a leveling kit? I'd also love to put some fender flares on but I won't if I don't need them.
Also, what rim size would you recommend and does anyone know of a good set f replica SRT10 rims in 18's or so?
The Methods I'd put on would be 17x8.5

The biggest tire size would be 285/65. A level with Bilsteins would allow you to run 35 x 12.50.

Good rim sizes are 18 x 9 or 20 x 9 or 10. Offset of 0 or -12. Stock offset is +19. Lower offset will stick out more.

I found a set of Methods in 18 x 9 with a -12mm offset.
Our bolt pattern is 5-139, right?
What size of tire can I fit on my Ram then WITHOUT any suspension modifications?

You'll want to stick to a 0 or positive offset if you're not doing a leveling kit.

You won't be able to run a 285/65 without a leveling kit either, they're too tall. A 285/60 will be pushing it height wise.

I'm getting conflicting information here then.
Does the negative offset with the rims I mentioned work then? Does a -12 work okay?

How bad does a leveling kit ruin ride quality?
What brand do most people recommend? I don't need the biggest tires ever, I just want them to fill my wheel wells a little better, ya' know?

If you're running a 18x9 -12 offset rim without a leveling kit you're going to need to stick to pretty much a stock size tire (maybe slightly larger) to avoid rubbing. A 18x9 0 offset would be the best for you to avoid any kind of rubbing.

That being said, a leveling kit will not ruin ride quality at all. If you use the Bilstein 5100 adjustable struts to level it you will actually increase your ride quality. I definitely wouldn't hesitate to level the truck is ride quality is all you're concerned about. For you I would recommend getting the Bilsteins and setting them at 2.1" then getting those 18x9 -12 offset rims and run a 305/65/18. It sounds to me like that would be exactly what you're looking for. Keep in mind that set up will be sticking out past your fender about 1-1.5 inches depending on the tire.

Wheel and tire fitment thread for some basic info. As it states and Brandon and I can attest to, there are differing opinions on what fits and what doesn't. It can come down to which type of tire whether it be an all season or an all terrain in terms of tread thickness or different manufacturers calling different size tires the same size.
