Default Door lock flutter

So I got in my Ram today started it up and took off. At the designated speed my doors locked. I heard this weird shutter sound coming from behind me, so I looked and everything was ok. My passenger said that he saw my rear drivers side lock flutter up and down. I then unlocked and locked it again and it did the same thing. The lock goes up and down rapidly about 3 times and then goes into the final "locked" position. Then after I had stopped I checked my door to make sure it was locked and it wasn't, I then made sure that the lock wasn't binding in any way. I then went over to the dealercrap.... they told me that they had no idea what could be wrong with it and that they couldn't tell me what to try but if they had a tech look at it they would shoot some wires and see if that was the problem. I really don't want them to touch it since I don't want to spend the $$$$$ to have them just look at it and then have them replace something that is more $$$$$. Has anyone else experienced this problem at all? If so what course of action did you take to correct the issue?

Why the worry about $$$? It's on warranty! Get them to fix it.

You should still have a warranty. How many miles do you have on it?

Had it happen to my 2011.

See here: http://ramforumz.com/showthread.php?t=112419

They replaced the lock solenoid. Not sure on cost though as mine was under warranty.

The problem is that I bought it used with 26k last year and got a great deal on it but I have 40k on it now. So no warranty that's why I don't want them to do it.

A 2012 with 40k miles is out of warranty???

Used or no, that seems bogus to me.

That's how warranties have always worked. Ram is a standard bumper to bumper warranty of 3yr OR 36k, whichever comes first. Straight from the warranty manual:

The Basic Limited Warranty lasts for 36 months
from the date it begins or for 36,000 miles on
the odometer, whichever occurs first.

Powertrain warranty is 5/100 however that would not cover a door lock solenoid.

My bad. I had it in my head the bumper to bumper was 5/60

Most likely the solenoid. Replace it yourself. I would even if it was covered. No way the dealer is taking my door panel off. No offence to any mechanics out there but you guys don't make money by taking your time.
