When you guys are talking about $x below invoice, is there a dealer fee on top of that? I picked up my ram 1500 for $977 under invoice with a $899 "dealer fee". Here in Florida almost every dealership has a "dealer fee" from $499-$899. I even had one dealership try to do a $699 dealer fee and a $299 advertising fee.

MSRP $50,660
Invoice $46,377
Price $45,400
Dealer fee $899

I looped the $259 dealer fees into my deal. When we agreed on a price I clearly stated "this includes all fees", an "out-the-door" price. Best way to do it, just normalize the equation as much as possible.

That said, your dealer fees are exorbitant! Sounds like they're trying to make money off of their fees instead of actually using them to cover costs.

Absolutely what astonius said. Work the deal so that's it's OTD (out the door). Make sure that's clear up front. They'll love to make you jump through all the hoops, and maybe even let you think you're doing a good job - and then hit you with all this BS on the backend.
Nope. Do over.
Don't allow it. Make sure they explain everything up front. Dealer fees should be costs for registration, tags, etc. These are set by other organizations, like the DMV.
The fees you're talking about are insane.

My dealer does not have any fees....As matter of fact that is their primary objective when advertising, "no DOC fees".

Use this site to build your truck and tell us what your invoice price is.....Remember they don't include factory destination charges in that price so you need to add $1095 to the price.

http://autos.aol.com/ram/

Near as I can tell they are not making much off you....BUT, they ain't losing nothing either. I am assuming the price they gave you includes current available rebates on the 1500. They had to cut into their holdback a little to give you that deal.

thanks for the reply....i didnt see a limited option on the list of vehicles on the site you put up...so i couldnt use it.....there is a 1500 dollar rebate i believe and the dealer is taking a chunk off the price as well...i dont know what would be considered a good deal based on the business i have given them...i was also told that by the time the truck was built that there would more than likely be more rebates...i used one cadillac dealer for almost 13 years when i was into escalades..whenever i traded up they gave me great deals...i feel as if i should expect the same from this dodge dealership..maybe i am looking for too much...we will see..

Error---- Out the door is 48,110 that does not include the 1500 rebate.

You are getting a great deal!!!!
