Default Oil change question

Still a ways away from my first oil change, only at 1100 miles. But was wondering who has opted to pay the dealer the extra money to use synthetic and if it was worth it. I've never used synthetic in any vehicle I've ever owned. Any power increase or mpg increase? Even if its very minimal, I would LOVE to up my mpg by any means. My truck drinks gas like its going out of style.

any gain will be minute IMO, but do what you like I prefer syn only cause it offers better start up protection and overall protection during use but seeing how you live in HOT Florida I don't think you will gain cause of the temps down there.

Default MPGs increase not likely measurable

Jim - you could take your truck to JiffyLube (or similar) at your current mileage and have synthetic oil installed if you aren't in a situation to put the stuff in yourself.

You won't see any actual HP increase but synthetic oil is really great stuff.
Minimal engine wear, cold weather starts, extended drain intervals WITH good filters.

Get modern and the truth is ANY current synthetic engine oil brand (and no garbage FRAM Orange oil filters) at the auto chains is perfectly good motor oil.

synthetic is the way to go, but wait 5-10000 mi for the rings to seat in really well
