Default Dash Cams

What is the best dash cam that will record long periods of driving?

I had a few but they only recorded 15 minutes and looped regardless of how big a memory card you put in it... So I am looking for a nice one that will record hours or an entire drive that wont erase or write over until you want it to do so...
Thanks for any info on this as I am at a loss ( techtard here )

Transcend driver 230. Had it for 3 years with no issues. It loops but will store days of footage until the card is full then overwrite.

I've been eyeing the blackvue for a while, just can't pull the trigger. Thinkware is another good option.

Thanks , I'm looking at the reviews on all of them. I'm surprised at the costs for some of these, wow.

Yes- my cam had the function- you could set the time limit or unlimited. the cam was running and automatically end the recording, when the vehicle was parked. And it was a very cheap one (that's why I bought it). but it also worked just the $49.99 worth. after 6 month it was done. The only reason, why I don't have a go pro is, that I have right now other things to do with my money. $300 and more for a reasonable cam is just simply not to justify (toward my financial minister at home).

I am looking at financing a truck and want one just so I don't have to deal with all the BS of he said she said.... just straight up proof. I like the ones that record both front and rear, cant go wrong there as they come from all directions.

When we see a RAM with 25 cams directing in all directions, we know, who it is...

I've been running a Spy Tec A119 + GPS (version 1; they're now out with version 2 which improves low light quality) since I got the truck. Works great. No complaints. I particularly like how you can adjust the lens both vertically and horizontally.

PS: If you dig into this stuff you'll probably learn "capacitor powered" dashcams are suggested to avoid overheating issues (it gets hot inside the cab when exposed to direct sunlight on a summer day). No matter which cam you choose, I suggest sticking with capacitor powered models.
