Default need info on brake controler

I am looking for information on how to disable the factory trailer brake controller, as it does not work on trailers equipped with disc brakes?
Thanks in advance, Tom

You can have the dealer disable the trailer brake unit.

Pull the fuse?

I believe that most trailer disc brakes are hydraulic. Electric brake controllers have no role in activating hydraulic brakes. You probably don't need to do anything.

Why does the controller not work? On your truck, you should be able to select EOH Light and Heavy as well as Light and Heavy Electric from the EVIC.

Some controllers just will not work well with trailer disk breaks, I have read that many disk break systems will not work well with certain type of controllers and the Ram one does not like them. Something to do with the pressure the lines need to do the breaking, not the same as drum units, I have read most will disable the Electronic braking and get a trailer with a hydrolic brake head on the trailer.

Sure they do. That is what the EOH setting is for as most hydraulic trailer discs are controlled by an electric pump. EOH is Electric Over Hydraulic.

2012 and up 2500+ trucks have the EOH settings. The Cummins guys say it does indeed work fine unlike previous years.

Tell that to the many thousands of UHaul trailers with hydraulic disc brakes

You are talking surge brakes. They are completely different and do not require a brake controller.
