I'd rather have the stock air box with a K&N

I pulled off the whole setup the other day and found alittle bit of built up black oil like reside on the inside of the pipe near the filter. Other than that it was relatively clean inside. I just sold my house in Florida and made alittle bit of money so when I get the check I will be buying the S&B cai (hopefully within the next week). My only concern is missing the whole OEM airbox and parts that I might have to use when I install the S&B intake. Hopefully that wont be a problem or I guess I will have to get creative with the install

i have the S&B and it comes with all the parts you need. S&B guys correct me if im wrong, the S&B intake doesnt utilize any of the stock air intake parts. however if i could do it over again i would have got the Vararam intake. the S&B works great i just like the way the Vararam intake looks more then the S&B.

That is correct the only part the s&b using off the factory intake is the hose that goes from the vent neck of the oil fill to the intake box, but if you dont have that you can pick up a piece of hose at any local shop that will suffice

I just installed the S&B intake on my truck. The only problem I ran into was I have the HBS leveling kit on my truck and the bolt from the passenger side shock was sticking up about 1.5 inches too high. After 2 hours of messing with the S&B airbox I finally just got irritated and cut 1.5 inches off the top of the shock bolt. After that it fit in there fine.

My only complaint with the S&B intake so far is the rubber coupler for the throttle body was alittle big. I had to really tighten down the clamps to get it to clamp onto the throttle body and I'm pretty sure the rubber boot is crimped alittle. Also the rubber coupler for the tube to the airbox was alittle short and I have about half inch on both sides that are short. I'm sure it will be fine but I still wrapped both sides with duct tape to be sure. I know it sounds bad but I would rather be safe than sorry.
