Question Alarms

what is the best option for a good alarm with remote start? I have had one truck stolen in the past and want something to try to prevent that from happening again just not sure what the best option would be

For an aftermarket alarm I am a big fan of Viper. Very good alarms with a lot of options to configure to your needs and concerns.

I would go with AstroStart. The remote start unit is like $300 BUT the alarm is only like $100 to add because the remote start unit has the CPU for both. It is a two way system so it will tell you if the alarm is going off, truck running, doors locked etc. I think it is the best bang for the buck.

the only thing is
you have to find a company that makes one that works with the 2013 & newer Rams

a strange thing that a friend told me was
the 2013 Ram alarm system only works, if it is set when the door is Open, then you close the door
He told me that is written in some material that he got with his 2013 Ram

I had never heard of this before & i didn't read it for myself

with older vehicles, some better brands were or are
Ravelco Anti-Theft Device.
VIPER
CLIFFORD
PYTHON
LOJACK
& a company that i never heard of
Skytek Vision Guard

Good point. Although I have a 2012 I was unsure if an aftermarket alarm (Viper my fav) would play nicely, so I elected to pay the cost for the dealer to activate the alarm they installed for protection on the lot. I also have LoJack.

I have the factory alarm but I want something that can actually stop someone from stealing the truck lol is there anything that will make it so the truck can`t be started if the alarm is going off?
