Default Trans and exhaust, and few questions

Hey guys,

Few questions
1). I have a 2001 2500, when I come to a stop sometimes, my transmission feels like it's in neutral and drifts backwards, I either have to give it a lot of gas (which it jumps forward) or I have to put it in rev then drive. Any ideas?

2). I have heard a lot of 5.9 dakotas lately with a really deep/loud exhaust.
I have a FM Super 40 with no cat dumped right above my rear axle, and it's not as loud/deep as I would like, at all. I know the one had the muffler dumped right at the beginning of the bed, would this be why it's louder? I can't figure it out. Maybe they had headers?

3). Is there any differences between the K&N intake vs a homemade vs ebay? I don't care about looks, I'm asking performance wise. I'm on the stock intake, maybe that has something to do with #2? I'd like to make my own homemade one, just gotta search for the best one.

Thanks in advance!

#1...Check the fluid and try some "Lucas" transmission fluid.

#2...The shorter exhaust will give it a deeper sound. Think of it like this: Talk through a toilet paper tube and then a long gift wrapping tube. Which is louder?

#3...The K&N has the ease of a reusable filter and factory finishing/machining to increase air flow (streamline) the interior of their CAI.

a. Some of the best modifications in the world are manufactured in the home garage and can be just as if not more effective.

b. Uhm...ebay is a big site...see #3 and #3.a. above.

#1. I thought about using that. I hear good things about it. Time to take the plunge

#2. I'll shorten it to dump at the beginning of the bed. Would I lose more BP being I have no cat and I'm making it shorter?

#3. I figured. I'll be going with homemade!

You'll lose some but it shouldn't equate to much of a loss in HP...if any.
