Well I am ready to pull the trigger on a new retractable tonneau cover for my '12 Ram 3500 Longhorn Dually. Can anyone recommend a manufacturer and model number and what successes and failures they have had. I'd like to stay around $1K.

I had the PE Jack Rabbit on my 2005 and I have the BAK Flip VP on my 2012.

The PE JR was very nice, fit well, very secure and easy to get into and out of.

The BAK is also very nice, fits well, is secure (not as secure as the PE) and as long as you only need to get into the back of the bed is easy to open.

If you have to load the whole bed, say motorcycle or 5th wheel often, I would go with the retractable style, it's just easier. If money is not an object I would go with the PE JR, but I have no problem recommending either of those two covers.

Good luck,

David

I have a Roll N Lock on my 2012 1500 Longhorn 5'7" bed. I love it. No complaints so far. Had a small amount of water getting in at the top of the tailgate when it went through the car wash, but I put a tailgate seal on and that stopped the water.
