Default Bluetooth phone issues - full volume

Has anyone else had recent troubles with phone calls on their uconnect 8.4a? Since the last update every time I make or receive a call, and no matter if my music volume was 2 or 30, the call volume goes to 35???? I can't figure it out. Hope someone has and lets me know.

No issues here like that, in fact that's the first I've heard of that issue. Does it just automatically go to 32 regardless of what you had the call volume at when you hung up on the last call?

If I remember right you can adjust the background volume such as navigation and phone call volume separate. Music will play at whatever level you have it at and when a call comes in or the NAV has something to say it will over ride your music volume to whatever you have it set to.

Delete and re-pair the phone if you havent tried that already. Sometimes its gets a little wacky after an update.

just look around in the MENU
you will find the volume settings for each & every thing, phone calls, navigation, messaging
it sometimes takes some experimenting

I am so glad to hear that I wasn't the only one dealing with the fact that my truck thinks Im deaf and need my calls received at full volume. Thanks to the replies from all, I am going to play around with the volume settings and see if that fixes it. Thanks.

I know exactly what your talking about. I had the same issue. It finally was corrected when the dealership installed the replacement radio. The replacement radio is running version 13.31.06.

Keep in mind that the radio volume control is separate for each source (Nav, Phone, AM, FM, Sat, Media). I found this out when my Wife turned my volume down when my GPS was talking while she was talking on her phone (whenever 2 women are talking at the same time the stronger one will dominate). When my radio came back on it was at my last listening volume. I didn't find out until I started wondering why my GPS quit telling me where to go. There are some places to set some volume controls. I know for sure there is a separate one for Nav under settings. The thing is though, as soon as you change the volume of the Nav with the dial, it changes it in the settings. It's possible that your phone was in the process of sending media or phone conversation to the radio when the volume was turned up. If that were the case though, as soon as you turned it down while your phone was transmitting it should have stuck. I just wish the volume of the Parksense could be adjusted through the radio like my Mother's 2013 Dodge Journey does. On her Journey, you can turn the volume down to a more reasonable level and it stays. At least Dodge lowered the volume a bit from my initial software version, but I still wish I could control it.

I thnk I fixed mine. I re paired my phone and that didn't work. I change the nav volume and that didn't wor either. So I made a call and turned it to 20 before it started dialling. The call stayed at 20. Tried it again without touching the volume and it must have saved. Whew. My ears have thanked me.

IMO the best solution is to do a hard reset. I have had similar uconnect issues with mine and done this and it went back to normal again. (only downside is having to reprogram your channels and re-pair your phone)

Steps to reset:
1) Hold both the heat and cold buttons (arrows) simultaneously for about 5 seconds, a new "developer" screen should appear.
2) Scroll down to "reset to factory settings" and press.
3) you should get an "are you sure screen" just press yes
4) Give it about 30 sec or so to boot back up and it should be good to go again.

Hope this trick works for you like it did for me, good luck!
