Gear ratio not listed. I would assume it's the 3.55. I think it's standard on diesels.

Gearing matters. And the fuel economy is impressive enough to make you seriously consider the trade off.

I had a Gmc with the 6.5 turbo diesel, when I first got it I was concerned it did not have enough power to tow because it was so slow, but with the trailer on it did not change much. When towing the fuel economy did not drop as much as a gas engine truck does.Too bad the truck was such a POS ,when it was running right it performed well.

Slow but pretty much as expected. Really wish they had bumped the power a little, 320/500 woud have been better.

You would go a lot faster going down hill. Draw your own conclusions.

When I owned my first diesel back in 1982, I used to humor people asking me what it was like to drive a diesel. I responded by saying "Driving a deisel causes one to develop a strong sense of patience."

I'd expect it to be in the 8-9 second range, but considering that is a fully loaded crew cab that is likely pushing more than 6k lbs, that's not a terrible time. Plus current diesels generally feel faster than they are. I bet it pulls nice though.

Skytop, I'm not sure if you have driven any modern diesel trucks? I have a 05' duramax and it is anything but slow. A quick look found 2012 duramax 0-60 was 7.2 and the 6.0 was 7.7. I'm sure the numbers are similar for rams. Pluses a diesel will respond tremendously to a programmer where they are a joke for gas motors. Search YouTube for Cummings vs Corvette or mustang videos and see who wins.
My smack gets 16mpg mixed driving and 15mpg towing a 6000lb boat at 75mph. I expect this truck to get 25-26 towing my boat.
