I recall reading way back about the Cummins for the 1500 and they were talking of mpg around the 25 mark possibly lower. But, that was years ago.

Just wonder, since diesels take a little longer to break in than a gasser if the mpg and the 0 to 60 for the 3.0 VM won't improve decently as its mileage increases.

Not quite lol but yeah upwards of 70lb! (I shipped a few).

I still have 2 or 3 in the garage trying to unload them (cast, not forged). I only had the one forged and it sold instantly, they were rare.

Talking Glad I did not get the Eco Diesel

I finally got to test drive the Eco Diesel. I bought a 2014 Outdoorsman CC 4x4 and was agonizing for months over not getting the Eco Diesel. After the test drive I could not be happier with my decision. The Eco was a slug off the line. My wife will surely get into an accident trying to cross traffic. I realize that the cost per mile is less in the Eco but that is a small price to pay for her safe driving and the power of the Hemi for me.

Just got my diesel, and think the off the line launch is great for a diesel. Better than Mercedes diesel. My wife hated the Mercedes turbo lag but likes this truck. The overall feel of acceleration is great around town, and excellent as highway driver. Well worth the wait. Plus, I can drive with a heavy foot at 100% of acceleration capacity and not get penalized much, whereas hemi has to be very light footed. Driving with a heavy foot in a hemi and I bet the diesel is twice the mileage.

While my EcoDiesel was in the shop for some body work I got a Hemi loaner (same year). The Hemi felt only a little more powerful with how I drive, but MPG was terrible. On my same commute for 4 days I was averaged 10MPG less with Hemi (25MPG EcoDiesel & 15MPG Hemi). The loaner was a only a quad cab with a lot less features. In northern IL the cost difference is only 10 cents on diesel right now.

Glad I went the EcoDiesel route...
