Exclamation HIDs Questions...

Ok guys so I want to buy HIDs, on my 98 chevy blazer I have 10000k, I installed them, pretty strait forward... However I heard tons of things about installing them on Dodge trucks: I have a 2002 dodge ram 1500 quad cab, I wanna go with 6000k, the thing is that im confused with what to buy: cancelers or relay harness or resistors, also I have fogs, so please guys help me out.

These are just some sites I've been looking...
http://www.ddmtuning.com/Product-Cat...hting/HID-Kits
http://www.hidxenonheadlights.com/Dodge-Ram-HID-Kits/
http://www.xtremehids.com/product_in...products_id=89
http://www.buyhidkits.com/8000khidkits.html
http://www.tophidkits.com/hidrelay.html

I don't really wanna too much on HIDs but I would like them to be reliable !

Thanks in advance!

I think Maddog has a write up of some sort from when he did his HIDs.

I have HIDs from DDM in my truck, they have been great so far. They are the 6k ones.

With the Dodge, you will encounter flickering and the "lamp out" issue. The fogs are 100% plug and play so I would get them from DDM Tuning. With the lows, if I could, I would start over and try to piece together something so that the lows work no problem.

With the DDM kit you will get the hi/lo for $60 + shipping. Then you have to find a resistor that will work. I have yet to find one that gets rid of the flickering. I don't have "lamp out" though. I just wish I could get rid of the damn flickering thing!

The other sites I can't say anything about because I have never used them.

We also have a vendor that will send you everything that we need for $100 overnight but that is only for the low beam.

If that vendor could hook me up with a resistor or something to get rid of the flickering issue then that would be great!

P.S. I LOVE my 6000K.

One of the kits would work, i.e., direct plug and play, a resistor harness arrangement, a capacitor oriented harness or a relay harness.

My truck required the relay harness to eliminate the flickering problem.

But how can you setup a relay harness and hi/low harness together?

use this schematic to run your hi's and lows at the same time when on hi beam. this will not solve the flickering problem though.

The relay harness I have included a trigger wire to the high beam circuit (I have one headlight that is the low and high beam) so that trigger wire activates the high beams when I need them. It works just like the factory arrangement with halogens.

The relay harness was required to solve the flickering problem on my truck.
