Default Oil Leak cure?

No, my Ram doesn't leak oil, but my old vette does a little. Do any of those engine oil additives really work? Just reading bottle labels, they all claim to stop minor oil leakage without gumming up the oil passages.
Can't tell for sure if it's an oil pan leak or between the engine and bell housing, maybe both. It's a beautiful old car, but since I only drive it about 250 miles in a years time, I'm not willing to spend big money for all new seals. Should I try one of the bottle cures, sell it off, or just live with it as is? I currently just park over a big heavy plastic sheet in the garage.

I will say the Lucas products are pretty good. I've used their stop leak stuff with old cars and it works fairly well.
