Default 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab With Eco Light on

I have a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 5.7L Hemi Quad Cab. The Eco light is always on. Is this normal for it to always be on, Is there a switch to turn off, How does this work and what does it mean?

Is the Eco light you are referring to in the over head console where your MPGs are displayed

Yes it is normal to be on all the time, it stands for best i can tell fuel economy.. as dumb as it is for them to put a light up there that says that it is always on

Thanks for the info. Have you heard about the ACD Autochip for the dodge 1500 and is it good?

no, stay far away from anything like that, it is just an expensive paper weight that will potentially do more bad than good. if youre looking for a performance adder by way of the computer look into a tuner, I.E superchips, Bullydog, or Diablo those are your best bet for performance im running a superchips but i just bought a diablo so i can custom tune to optimize my headers, the superchips is fantastic and not to terribly expensive but again stay away form ACD, JET or anything of the like with these trucks they are a waste of your money

If you aren't looking to drop a bunch of coin start with a k and n or green drop in filter, depending on miles changing plugs never hurts and the biggest and best mod for mpg is be easy on the skinny pedal. But all and all you're driving a full sized truck and from your numbers it looks like a 4wd at that. So you're not to far of the spectrum for mpg

Sounds good, I figured out with my 2001 that I had to keep my fat foot off the skinny pedal. It is a 4wheel drive. From what I have read about the truck my gas millage is doing good. Not expecting a big increase just looking to maximize what i can get and help it run to its max.

I hear ya there even with my superchips tuner, headers, CAI, and magnaflow exhaust im only seeing 15-16 in town and thats if im nice to it im normally closer to 14 in town, but mine is a 4wd as well. And a side note if you go to change plugs use the stock champion copper plus plugs they are like $2 each anything else will more than likely give you problems
