Either that or try JB Weld.

I built a dirtbike where I had to notch the tank and had it plastic welded. They basicly have a heatgun with a special tip that you can load a plastic rod thru, then it melts both parts together. So it can be done if you can find someone in your area. But above link looks easier.

i have used a two part epoxy (industrial type) and got a piece of plastic that had at least 2 inches of plastic to overlap the hole i had to repair on a peterbuilt def fluid tank. after the epoxy dried and fully cured i used a heat gun to melt some softer plastic around the edges of the patch to create an extra outer seal and it has been working for the last 2 years with no problems at all.

i got the rest of the gas ran out of the tank. i am going to start dropping the tank next weekend. then i am going to try sealing the split back together. i have already used a repair putty from napa/ permatex. but that has already started leaking after a week and it was for plastic tanks. i am thinking of trying the melting the plastic back together with a soldering iron then melting a patch over it with a sealing iron. although i might first try the stuff Asur sugested then seal with a plastic patch. the split is about 6 inches long.

Keep us posted on how it works out, pics of before and after would be real cool, I think that the outcome good or bad would interest a few members who may end up in the same predicament. Please try and find the time to come back with your results.
